We counted all the reported accidents on 24 segments of Los Angeles freeways for a year. Then we calculated the number of accidents per mile on each segment. Here’s what we found:

 


 

Most Accidents Per Mile:

Northbound on the 110, between San Pedro and the 101.

162.8 accidents per mile

 


 

The Safest Stretch of Freeway:
The 101 Northbound from Downtown to Topanga Canyon Blvd:
33 accidents per mile.
